It's a good book for covering the time period of Korean history. But I had wished for more character development, for something beyond characters as a vehicle for explaining history. Also, some of the deja vu moments were incredibly forced, while others worked beautifully. I liked the concept, and very much loved the beautiful sentences the author crafted, but was left wanting more from the book.
