Ballad: A Gathering of Faerie by Maggie Stiefvater

4.0

Much like Lament, Ballad would've been a five star book for me when it came out. There is a lot more going on in Ballad; once it tipped over and began pulling together all of those threads, I couldn't put it down. Nuala and James were compelling, and the gathering around them of people who wanted to help was more interesting to me. (Lament felt like a very solitary book.) I enjoyed the revisiting characters return from Lament and meeting new ones. Sullivan was my favourite.

Really enjoyed the story being told from multiple POVs (including one that only exists as text messages), the hints given within the book via the stories within the story, as well as the expansion of Stiefvater's Faerie world. I would absolutely read another book if one happened to show up sometime in the future.
