So the miscommunication trope is REALLY not my thing. But the longing, lustful, slow burn, brother’s best friend trope certainly is. And - the fact that this was a deeply and emotionally complex read.
I absolutely loved the mental health (OCD) rep in this book. And I also feel like it went both ways for Tristian too because he has such a hard time talking about his feelings. Their shared loved of movies and books and art was so social to me as the foundation of their friendship. The ending got me so good and was so emotional because of the Easter eggs @l.e.todd leaves for you from Tristian throughout the book.
My main frustration from this book can be summed up in one word: Edging.
