This was so stinking cute but did surprisingly make me cry at the end, I wasn’t expecting that.

Right from the start you know that Wren steps in to be this girl Gemma to save this guy from being embarrassed by his friend, she didn’t like how much his friend was poking fun at him for getting stood up by his internet date so she decides to pretend to be her with the intention of telling him after that she’s not really her but every time she tries to have a one on one discussion his friend happens to be there. After that first initial meeting he ends up volunteering at the animal shelter she mentioned and they spend more time together and you can tell they get along really well, like they were super cute together and I was rooting for them but I kept waiting for that shoe to drop that she wasn’t who she said she was.

Things actually didn’t go bad with that and then I was left questioning what was going to happen cause there was still a good amount of book left. A couple things piled up on top of each other and I found myself crying along with Wren, it was just a lot to handle at once.

I did mention they volunteer at an animal shelter and I loved it! A big part of it is she’s tasked with finding this dog Bean a home and they come up with different ways to try to get him adopted and it was just so cute.
