Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
4.0
Piranesi lives in the House, he thinks he always has.
But when messages begin to appear on the walls and the pavements, and mysterious people begin to appear, truths are uncovered.
Susanna Clarke has constructed a miraculously detailed world that beguiles the reader from the very first page. The reader learns more about the world with Piranesi, which I really enjoyed. I adore books, such as this, which intentionally confuse the reader for majority of the novel but then answer all questions by the end. Piranesi is a wonderful main character, his mind works in such fascinating ways and I loved watching him grow and change throughout the story. I also loved Raphael and her relationship with Piranesi; so wholesome!
