It was fun to read this (Brandon’s first book) concurrently with The Sunlit Man (his most recent). His writing style has gradually shifted as he’s matured as a writer, but Elantris still holds up. As someone who has a hard time enjoying Warbreaker, I was worried that Elantris would be similar - but I really loved this book. Great characters, a well-built world, and a story that I would recommend to any fantasy reader.
