I enjoyed Harper's first book the Dry, but I loved this sequel. I think her writing became even more engaging, and the way the story was told in flashbacks and in the present really added a wonderful dimension to the book. You are continually building your opinions on the mystery and the characters during this story, which I think is a sign of mature writing. ⠀⠀
I would say this book is a mystery but not a thriller, and yet still a page turner.
