So I did really enjoy this even as it made me unbearably angry. It was made especially difficult to read after the dumpster fire that was the 2020 US election, but I think that's what makes it more important and more relevant.

One of the things I really appreciated was seeing the world of this book from the eyes of a scientist. But also seeing it from the eyes of someone who didn't vote, who brushed off the warnings and cries for help. So honestly, this is a book I recommend to anyone who didn't think the 2020 election was a big deal - especially if you're a woman - because this felt like just the next step in the dystopia that is America right now.

I wish we got a bit more of Jean's Italian background, though I suppose that's rather difficult in the beginning with the word limit and later with the rapid pace. I also very regularly forgot that she had 4 kids and not just 2 - so maybe reminding us of the twins a little more often would have been great.
