The Night is Darkening Round Me by Emily Brontë

5.0

and could we lift the veil, and give
one brief glimpse to thine eye,
thou wouldst rejoice for those that live,
because they live to die.

really nice little sampler of emily brontes poetry.
if you -like i am!- not a poetry reader but want to give it a try and see i highly recommend this edition!
and i surprisingly really loved this! i love the rhythmic poetry and while this entire book did have a sad undertone with most poems being about death, dying or the passing of time with natural themes thrown it, i still enjoyed them all!

i am defiantly interested to get my hands on a full book of her poetry and see what else i enjoy be her and might even become brave enough to venture out into the wildness that is poetry to me! how about that?
(take that teacher from 17 years ago basically calling me too stupid to ever understand the true meaning of poetry in front of an entire class and scaring and scarring me until now from picking poetry up!)

if anyone has any recommendations for similar poetry that read „review“ this until point, please let me know with a comment or recommend it to me! thanks!

i clearly recommend this little booklet! so if you are interested go read it!
