THIS book! This book! I loved the first book in this series, but this one easily surpasses it. In this book I have found a new favorite heroine and a gorgeous romance to consume.
Please ignore the cover, I promise it’s really, really good!
》Nelle《
Nelle has definitely one of my favorite heroines now! I loved the contrast in her character, a hunter looking to survive, yet her edges aren't sharp, rather they are soft with curiosity, vulnerability, kindness, and limitations. She knows her strengths and weaknesses, but she endures.
I loved how she was immediately open to her new environments and had a million questions to ask. She may not have strengths of muscles but she has tremendous strength of heart.
》Seerin《
Uff, Seerin! This Horde King will have many missteps along the way, but you can’t help but love him. Like Nelle, his past is a harsh one that has shaped his present, and looms upon his future. He wants to protect the horde above all— but when he positions his people over his heart, can hurt truly be avoided?
》The Romance《
This romance was sublime. I loved how Seerin was willing to wait for the inexperienced Nelle to be ready for something more. He paid so much attention to her— as her face cannot hide her emotions— and did his best to win her over.
That said, you may not be happy with every choice he makes related to this romance.
Buuuut, If there’s a trope I enjoy maybe too much it’s the male hero having to grovel for forgiveness. Expect some heartbreak, but also some fantastic groveling to follow it!
》The Future《
I will admit I am unsure if I will continue this series, some of the later synopsis don’t quite appeal to me, but then again, I wasn’t sure if a second book could even match how much I enjoyed the first and here I am stating it was even better. We’ll see what the future holds for me, but at least I can safely say I leave this one positively satisfied.
