Rumaan Alam blurbed this book “if there’s any justice, Solito will someday be considered a classic.” And that sums up exactly how I feel. This book needs to be read in High Schools everywhere especially with this country’s track record and where it’s headed. We need to lift up Own Voices, listen with open hearts, and empathize with the stories of the real experiences of the strong people who survived the unjust beginnings that are tied to the foundation of the “American Dream.”
