The worst part about finishing this book is not having any more Jane Harper to read. One of my favorites of hers.

It builds itself up slowly and believably. Like any good mystery, there are a lot of suspect characters at the start. But unlike most mysteries, the more you learn, the more somber and human things get, until you land on the bittersweet ending that really couldn't have ever gone any other way.
