Go Ask Alice by Beatrice Sparks
5.0
Mild Spoilers Ahead:
Oh wow, when I first started off, I expected some sort of tragic ending, but by the time I turned the last page, I was so hopeful for Anonymous and her future. Then I read the epilogue & teared up. So impactful. A must-read.
Somewhat disappointing to learn that Sparks may have lied about this being a true account, but the story still resounds regardless.
Go Ask Alice was something completely different from what I expected - a tale of a seemingly innocent, middle-class, "good" girl going off the rails is in sharp contrast to most of the horror stories we typically hear.
