Thick Beef by Layla Fae
5.0
Lysander & Judith (Jude): Hilariously-Erotic, Sweet Love Story- 5 stars!
Layla Fae is slowly but surely working her way into being one of THE BEST Monster Romance writers whose work I've ever had the pleasure of reading! One of the reasons I love Layla Fae's books is because she brilliantly introduces her readers to a plethora of kinks that we may, at some point in our lives, have been curious about but were a little too embarrassed or afraid to investigate. She gently pulls you in to the debauchery and I'm here for it!
THICK BEEF is no different and it doesn't disappoint!
We meet Jude, a woman who inherited a debt from her recently deceased father and is now the target of the mob. While running for her life, she unknowingly enters a "special event" in progress where several Minotaur chase willing, female participants through a maze where naughty shenanigans ensue after capture. The problem is, Jude is NOT a willing participant and winds up garnering the attention of a huge, aggressive, horned chaser named Lysander, who insists that she belongs to him.
I could not stop laughing while reading this book. This story is fun, witty, smutty, and erotic. On a whole, the plot and execution is quite cleverly crafted. Moreover, as ridiculous as the plot is, it works in the readers favor and we are afforded a very satisfying HEA that will make your heart smile.
Be sure to read the foreword and check the triggers before moving forward. This book is not for everyone and as the disclaimer says, do not take any of this seriously. It's meant to be a fun, quick read. So, if you are looking for a smutty good time with minimal angst, drama, and unnecessary violence, this is a wonderful palate cleanser to anything heavy you may have read beforehand. Definitely worthy of all five stars.
Happy reading!
