I had such a great time reading this book, and I feel like it's such an improvement from her first novel (haven't read her others romances yet) which I did love, but clearly not as much. The love story was well-written, engaging, I loved how the characters interacted with each other, it was never in a almost toxic way that kind of makes my skin crawl (which is sadly not uncommon in romances). Jack doesn't have deep alarming red flags that are completely ignored, it's worth mentioning. What kept me in this book was also Elsie, she's a real and raw portrayal of the hardship of the reality of many women in academics. She was funny, but also made me bawl my eyes out as I was suffering with her, her pain felt deeply personal. The author did a wonderful job with this book, will definitely re-read.
