Pretty Broken Doll by Bree Wiley
4.0
Ryann • Shilo
….
“I don’t know how we got here, but I’m not questioning it. Not fighting it. His jagged edges might not match up with mine, but that’s what makes us perfect. Beautiful. Human.”
….
If you know me closer you know that opposite attract is one of my all time tropes. There’s just something about two human beings that on the first glance seem like they have the longest bridge between them but in reality only one fragile step closer divides them.
While reading Pretty Broken Doll you question yourself how these two different man will actually fit. One jaded, pushing people and feelings away. The other delicate, self conscious, thriving on feelings.
So when Shilo and Ryann do take that one step, discover how they actually completed each other in the end through Bree’s thought out words. One learning how to love, respect and showing his dedication. The other coming out of his shell, learning his self-worth, reveling his fire.
I have to be honest, insta lust isn’t my get go, it can be a hit or miss for me. There’s no in between. I have to give it to the author for tackling this trope which ever way I think it worked or it didn’t. I think I said this before about Bree’s work that there’s so much potential, a little tweak here, a little there and I only see the greatest things ahead.
Overall I enjoyed Pretty Broken Doll, it didn’t hit with the emotional connection I predicted to have before starting it but who can’t wait for Kansans and Carpenter? This girl right here.
Rating: 3.5 up.

“Definitely pretty, like a little doll with those soft pink lips.” // “…a smile that would have lit me up if it could. God, I wish I could feel something.” // “There’s no way this won’t end with one of us in pieces.” // “So what if I do?” // “But for now, in this quiet moment, it almost feels like we’re spending it together.” // “But what would I give to claim him out loud?” …
….
*I received an advance copy directly from the Author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.
