DNF @ 32% (read chapters 1-9).

I've never actually watched any reality television dating shows, but I have watched shows like UnReal or Love is for Suckers that revolve around that concept from the production point of view (highly recommend both, btw), so I was considerably excited and quite looking forward to a book crafted along those lines, but made all the more delicious and spicy by the addition of the omegaverse trope.

Sadly, this was an epic fail for me. The writing was simply atrocious. The "meet the bachelors" portion was absolute TORTURE to get through. The same conversations got rehashed again, and again and again. Not to mention it was all pure, undiluted info-dumping. There was zero "showing" it was all just very clumsy, rough "telling".

"Once you have all arrived, Bree will join all of you in there and spend some time with all of you before we do our first rose ceremony. I'm sure you have questions about the rose ceremony since it wasn't in the packet. I won't be answering as Bree will explain the ceremony to you[...]"

[...] Then she explains the next part of the process—waiting in the game room, time with Bree as a group, and then something about a rose ceremony that Bree will explain to us.

"Then Bree will come spend a couple of hours with all of you before we move to the ballroom where we'll hold the first rose ceremony" [...] "Rose ceremony?" "Don't worry, you'll learn about it with the others tonight. It was Bree's idea, and we wanted to allow her to be the one to explain it to you"

[...]she explains how the rest of the evening will play out, even mentioning something about a rose ceremony that I assume I'll read about in the packet or it'll be explained at some point.

Tessa nods, explaining how the evening will progress, explaining that the night will culminate in a rose ceremony that will be explained to us later.

She goes over the schedule for the evening—the game room with the suitors until we all arrive, and then Bree will join us. Then something about a rose ceremony that will be explained to us.

She gives me a synopsis of what to expect for the rest of the night, which will end with a rose ceremony, and apparently Bree will explain it to us.

She gestures to a beta male who waves before proceeding to go over the plan for the evening, which will end in some kind of rose ceremony that Bree will explain to us.

[...]letting me know he'd be taking me to the game room. After that, we'll spend some time with Bree as a group before some kind of rose ceremony that Bree will explain to us.

"Hector will show you to the game room, and I'll bring Bree up as soon as she's ready. Then she'll spend time with all of you before the rose ceremony, which she will explain later".

"Then you all will head to the ballroom for the rose ceremony. Bree will explain the importance of each of the roses [...]"

"[...]Once I'm done with each group, we'll head to the ballroom together for the rose ceremony. Don't worry if you have questions about it, as I will explain how the ceremony works then[...]"

I don't typically DNF books, but I hope these quotes have shed some light on why this one in particular made me want to put my head through a wall. I just can't cope with this level of terrible writing.
