King of Battle and Blood by Scarlett St. Clair

4.0

i decided to gave this book the benefit of the doubt upon seeing plenty of unpleasant reviews regarding the book, and surprisingly enough, i enjoyed the book more than i thought i would. though i do agree with some people that this book has PLENTY of plot holes in it that needs to be filled and it focuses much more on the romance between adrian and isolde and less on the fantasy and the world building and i think it is definitely a point that should be explored more in the next installment. overall, simply an enjoyable, easy read for me, especially with getting back into fantasy reads after MONTHS (nearly a year even) of neglecting my existing fantasy collection. and yet here i am, and i am happy to say that i’m glad i chose this book to start with. adrian and isolde has my heart and i cannot wait for their next adventure together. i have more to say but my lack of sleep limits my ability to further elaborate but someday i will
