The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd

So. This book is a bit campy. To really enjoy everything this book has to offer, it’s best to approach it with the same mindset you would when you watch National Treasure. In fact, I would even describe this book as an eclectic mishmash of National Treasure and the Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. And oh my god, I loved it. I loved Humphrey, specifically, but for reasons I cannot speak of without giving too much away. This was GOOD. I can admit I was less intrigued by the present story line than the past storyline— the utterly devoted relationships of those characters struck all the right chords with me— but Nell and Felix’s stories were… Just eh. Regardless, this was super enjoyable.
