Uprooted was the first Naomi Novik novel I ever read (rated it 5 stars then, and am doing the same now) and it made me very excited to read other stuff by her. Somehow, it's the last Naomi Novik novel I've ever *reread* though.
Anyway, it holds up. I read it this time with the beautifully illustrated Grim Oaks Press edition.
It's been long enough since I read this book the first time that I forgot almost all the details, which meant that I was on the edge of my seat for much of the latter half of the book. Very gripping action, and beautifully told. The tension was high, in a very satisfying way. Will hopefully reread again someday
