The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley
4.0
Type of read: Commuter Read.
What made me pick it up: I've read some books by Lucy Foley before and always enjoyed them.
Overall rating: Ok, overall, 'The Hunting Party' was a good book. I'm rating it a bit higher than I probably normally would because I loved the twists and turns and the actual storyline (and I was 100% surprised by the ending)...but I HATED the majority of the characters. Like with a passion, I hated them. Don't get me wrong, they were written well and they followed their character arcs beautifully, but I didn't vibe with them. I also think I would have enjoyed this book better in print. There's a lot of character switches and a lot of then vs. now. It probably would have been easier to digest in print. All that said, it was an enjoyable read and I would probably recommend with a disclaimer that some of the characters just irked me (the characters themselves, again, not the writing of the characters).
Reader's Note: 'The Hunting Party' includes themes of death, abuse, and drug and alcohol use.
