Murder Road by Simone St. James

slow-paced

1.0

Feeling harsh giving such a low rating; I think I could really enjoy the authors style in another genre, but for this one, I have to admit that the story just missed for me. Following our two protagonists, I felt their backstories and characters were told to us more than ever really getting a chance to feel things out much. The"take no nonsense" attitudes and chemistry did work between them but sadly I just didn't see that developed enough to win me over. A crime fiction, mostly by the numbers with a ghoulish 'twist' (I'm sorry I didn't like the twists, they ended up feeling very underserved/borderline coincidental).

Over I just wasn't satisfied.
We love Rose though. And admittedly the female characters are the highlight of the story.
