I have been waiting for this to come out since I was halfway through the first book. It picks up right where we left off, so we know exactly what a hot mess everyone is in, and where they stand. The action kicks off immediately, and the revelations of characters whose POVs we don't get to hear keep it very, very interesting. I loved hearing Helene's voice, for she has a big part in this book and I just...I LIKED her since the first. This book (like the first) played like a movie in my head, with rich, clear descriptions that kept the story moving but made me feel like I was there. The struggles each character has--whether they share them with others or not--were understandable, frustrating, heartening. The last line made me laugh out loud, wishing the third book was already out.
