The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong

4.0

I really liked this book.In the begining the plot needs to pick up steam, and the characters are a little catty. The main character, Chole, is kind of the lets be the best we can, damsel in distress, but she knows it, and some mock her for it. That gets old after a while, but it fades as the novel progresses. When Derek and Chole are on their own, this seems like the most mature point of the book. The characters are fully developed, and we can get a sense of what they think and act like more than their outer skin they show to everyone else.
I'm intrigued by the plot, and I wish to know more, but I fear the plot of genetic changes will not be fully explored or explained. It has been a while since I read the first book, so I may be lacking that information.
