This is the second book in the Fae of Snow and Ice (completed) series that is your classic “fae with wings” romantasy. Tropes and themes include trials/competition, slowburn, political intrigue, winged MMC, touch her and die, morally gray MMC, banter and emerging powers. This book does contain spicy adult content and dark themes so please check content warnings.
The Lovely: I loved how this story unfolded and the changing relationship between the main characters. We had a fast paced plot where the tension just kept increasing until it POPPED at the end. This was a wild ride that I couldn’t put down. All the components of a good fantasy - plot, character, tension, world-building - come together effortlessly.
Rating: 4.5/5 Stars 2/5 Flames
Recommendation: That ending - what just happen? I didn’t see that coming. While some of the reveals were expected (at least to me), in a good, comforting, low-stress way, this ending was not. I’m still sitting here upset at what happened and anxious for what is to come next. Time for book three, stat!
