Venus in the Blind Spot by Junji Ito
dark

fast-paced
4.5
I wish certain images would unburn themselves from my brain. With the exception of the titular tale (which was more unpleasant mystery than horror) and the autobiographical one, this collection is a showcase of discomfort. Ito is not satisfied with spooking us; his monsters crawl under the covers beside us and twist that intimacy into violation.
