I was SOOOOO excited for this part in the duology, and while I did LOVE it, book 1 was definitely way better for me.

I agree with other reviews that this could have been a trilogy. The ending felt really rushed, the romance felt rushed. Obviously I’ve always been team Finn, but I loved the reveal at the end of book 1 about Sebastian’s heritage.

Brie self pities A LOT. This book is kind of ACOTAR fan fic… honestly I finished it a couple weeks ago and I can’t remember much in details except that Sebastian semi-sacrifices himself at the end so that Brie and Finn can rule together. All of the ruthless things he did in book 1 all fell apart in this book because “he wants what’s best for the kingdom”.
