The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles
5.0
Loved, loved, loved...loved, loved! I knew from a couple of pages in I would be hooked on this book so I put it down for a bit because I didn't want it to end too soon! It still ended all too soon and while there was a cliffhanger...I know there will be more. I am confident because X is so confident. And so far, he keeps his word which is so incredibly endearing.
I loved how intense the plot was from the beginning. I was reeled in with Zoe's characterization and I could so picture her. She's a fun, lively teenager who is still high spirited despite not having the best hand dealt to her. And X...goodness gracious. Who wouldn't want to love him?! He's been through so much and yet has such a noble purity about him. I love that somehow Giles has managed to make Zoe and X complete opposites but also complements to one another...they balance each other and just worked.
I loved the writing style and how everything was just so vivid without being overly explanatory or descriptive.
I'm seriously in need of the next in this series immediately! I know it will not disappoint.
As a testament to how much I loved this book, I'm keeping it. Typically, in probably atypical bibliophile fashion, I pass my books along when I'm finished with them. They have to really strike me for me to hang onto them...but The Edge of Everything is definitely one that I will keep on my bookshelves.
