Alice by J.M. Sullivan

5.0

"'Rule number one: Always protect your queen.' He flashed a sly grin followed by a quick wink."

I have received a digital copy from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

I am in love with all things Alice in Wonderland related and when I first heard of this book from a blog, I was captivated. It did take me some time to get to this book -for I was already reading 2 books at once- but it was definitely worth the wait for I was hooked from the first page. The story in corporates features from the original Alice in Wonderland to create a post-apocalyptic novel where Alice has to fight a "couple" zombies.

I haven't seen it mentioned in another review yet, but there is a secret message within the book if you notice the bold letters.

As mentioned before I was hooked from the first few pages and when I did have a chance to read, I did not put it down. The action and detailing is amazing; Sullivan does a great job of describing everything.

However there were a few concerns and some parts that I did not understand completely. **do not proceed - spoilers ahead**

For example, I would have liked Dinah to be more involved and at one point Chess disappears and then like what? Also, I'm still a bit confused on how Dinah ties in to the experiment - I understand she was tested on but I'm still puzzled on what Hatta was talking about (if anyone has an idea, feel free to message me).
