I was thoroughly impressed by the way The Sword of Kaigen left me feeling. I never really know how this could really bring me to so many emotions. And the events were absolutely insane!
This was such a heart-wrenching read and I feel like ML Wang did a fabulous job on the history behind Kaigen and the families. The Matsuda family was very in-depth and I was just shocked by how beautifully written this book was. I enjoyed the fighting and the connections behind The Sword of Kaigen and how Mamoru Matsuda was just an amazing main character alongside his mother, Misaki.
Mamoru is the eldest son in the current Matsuda generation and is hardworking and determined to conquer the powers that he has yet to discover he has due to his bloodline.
Misaki is raising four Matsuda boys but longs to go back to her old life and the times she had before she married Mamoru's father, Takeru, but must go through trials and tribulations in her past and her present to discover he true potentials and her true place after being married into the Matsuda family.
The Sword of Kaigen lives you truly feeling a number of feelings and I felt in love and in pain with all the events that happen to the Matsuda family.
