The Sandman Vol. 1: Preludes & Nocturnes by Neil Gaiman

3.0

I came to this, having not personally enjoyed Gaiman's other works, but I had heard enough about it to be intrigued. I loved the weirdness, and the premise of Dream and Death (who I loved from the moment we met her), and I enjoyed it more than I thought that I would. I did feel that the pacing was a little uneven in places and that there was something lacking - although I believe that is more personal preference than anything, and I was not a fan of 'Doctor Dee' and found that he and the diner scene jolted me out of it completely for a while. However, the ending with Death saved it, and was certainly my favourite part of the book.
