Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross

5.0

i don’t know how to function anymore. i was enthralled from the beginning and literally read this in a day. the romance is so beautiful, and (for the most part- hm hm THE ENDING?!?? brutal. need the sequel now please!!!) i was squealing at how cute they were and how much i loved them together. two journalists who are competing for the same role until they realise that the job isn’t what they want, to then go and be war correspondents was so interesting to read about. the war aspect was horrifying, and was written in such a way that made you see the raw pain of soldiers, but also how they’re just like us. gods and human fighting for them was amazing, although i’m excited to see how it pans out in the next book bc omd the ending i can’t get over it. throughout the entire book i was crying, smiling, laughing, in pure shock. it was so well paced, and so easy to just sit down and read all at once. again the romance and how they care for each other agghh so good. absolutely worth a read if you want a historical fiction/fantasy revolving around a war with gods and immortals and badass women
