Good Pucking Luck by Riley Hart
4.5
4.5 stars
This story has the perfect banter ever. Rylan and Hayes connection is strong since they met for the first time, it's also very easy and spontaneous and that makes them perfect for each other.
I adored how Hayes was free to be himself with Rylan, even if he struggles believing him, when Rylan says he's hot and charming. Hayes' past experiences were awful and they scarred him deeply.
I also loved his personal journey toward self acceptance.
Rylan too is finally free to be seen for the man he really is and not just as a successful hockey player. I liked his easygoing and laidback personality, completely opposite from we're used to read in hockey romance: yes, he's confident and well aware of his abilities, but he's not arrogant and he was actually the one who fell first.
What prevented me from giving a higher rate:
The confrontation with Malcolm was unsatisfying, I would have liked to see how he reacted after knowing Hayes was in a relationship with a hockey player. I hope he will roasted in the next books.
The epilogue too was a little disappointing, I needed something more about them in the future.
Can't wait to read the next books, the other jilted exes are very promising.
Very recommended.
I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review.
