BEAUTIFUL!
I read this as an audiobook via Libby and it was INCREDIBLE!
This was a beautiful, heartfelt, emotional story about love & family. We follow the story of three teens, Joaquin, Grace & Maya, who discover they are all siblings adopted into different families (except Joaquin, who is still in foster care). The book highlights each characters' personal struggles as they come to terms with their recent discovery of each other and how they help each other along the way.
My (and the general book's) synopsis doesn't do the story any justice. Just do yourself a favour and read it! I was an emotional wreck as I listened to this but thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
Although I couldn’t personally relate to their issues, I felt Grace's loss, I felt Maya's anger and I felt Joaquin's fear, but I also felt their love for one another. I connected with these characters so strongly that they almost felt like they were my own siblings. (And why not? Family isn’t always by blood, it’s by bond and that theme is very evident throughout the book).
Books like this that remind me why I love reading so much <3.
