Scar: A Stalker Romance by M. C. Luna
5.0
Leon & Maeve: Sour Meets Sweet and I Loved the Flavor 5 Stars!
This was a hidden gem that I'm surprised enough people aren't talking about. Hopefully, this review will convince you to get this book STAT!
SCAR introduces us to Leon, a locally famous, successful psychologist who treats patients with trauma and varying mental issues. One random day, he encounters a beautiful college student, and his life is changed forever. He is enthralled by the Bohemian-styled beauty with the long braid and cut-offs without having ever uttered a single word to her. This begins his obsession with her and every move he makes is a calculated one to make his dreams of being with her come true.
Maeve is a shy, awkward college student who is attending college on a scholarship. Her social circle is limited to her outgoing roommates while she tries her hardest to fit in. Being diagnosed with Celiacs Disease, doesn't make her college social life any easier. She has no idea that she has an admirer in Leon until she is swept up in a chain of events that puts her face to face with her stalker and has no idea that her life is about to drastically change.
I am so glad that the universe put this book in my path. M.C. Luna has created such an interesting, multi-dimensional character in Leon. Being a psychologist makes him the perfect villain. He is a veritable chameleon. There are so many layers! Leon is charming, intelligent, wily and is so methodical you will find yourself in awe and impressed by the method of his madness. Maeve will steal your heart with her innocence and her effort to fit in as the square peg in the round hole of college life. As you read deeper into the story of these two, several truth bombs will be dropped that will leave your mouth agape and your finger eager to turn the page.
Please be advised, this is a stalker romance and I implore you to check the triggers. There is non-con in this book and a whole host of other warnings that may trigger you. Please protect your mental health with this one. It is not for the faint of heart.
I wish there were more books by this author. I love her writing style and I will definitely be following her here and eagerly awaiting her next release.
Happy Reading!
