Northanger Abbey is quite different from other books by Jane Austen, the plot is less complicated, the main character´s family doesn´t play a big part and it criticizes gothic literature as well as the society. Nonetheless, it is fantastic. Catherine with all her faults is a wonderful character once I learnt to know her and her romance with Henry Tilney is a new favorite of mine. The relationships and human personalities that Austen creates keep on amazing me book after another. This one especially offers some great characters that you love to hate. The plot is at parts predictable, but I didn´t foresee the ending as a whole.
