Love in the Wild: A Tarzan Retelling by Emma Castle
4.0
This was a very well done retelling!
When it comes to a Tarzan story, this book had all of the important notes I was looking for. Thorne is a hero that is very easy to love. He had that child like innocence, while also still being a protective, primal male.
Eden, our Jane character, had a love of the jungle, and also questioned the fast connection between her and Thorne. Her compassion and love were what I wanted from this.
There is a bit of a magical realism element to the story, but it works well also.
So why isn't this a 5 star read for me?
Well, I just felt like there was something missing. Some depth to the story maybe? The pacing was good, but I do think we needed more time with Eden and Thorne before going to England. Maybe that's it? Either way, I will be reading more from this author in the future.
