What a great book! Starts a couple weeks after the last book finished with the new villain Phanes. At an hour left of the book I was getting nervous, it didn’t seem to be bringing us to an ending, was it going to be rushed or were we going into a 4th book?? But the ending was quite satisfying, not rushed, plenty of action, no miraculous save at the end, they worked for it. Well written.

Once again, Veritas goes off on her own to save Ian, and once again he catches up and gives her hell. Pretty hard to give up your independence after 4000 years! But by the end she has learned the power of team work.

Evan though this was Ian’s series (met him in other Night Huntress books), this felt more like Veritas’ series. She was the main focus and she was the main POV.
