This was such a good book! You get plenty of feels, some humor, and always lots of character growth. This is where Micalea shines in my opinion. The things her characters learn about themselves as they go through life making mistakes and even sometimes having regrets, reminds me that we're all just out here doing our best, and we will bounce back.
Micalea is a master at the age-gap romance! I loved the angst and especially the callout of the double standard that makes it totally ok for an older man to date a younger woman but reminds us that society judges women when it’s reversed. Even the “reverse age gap” trope calls this out as the “norm.”

I also loved the “older” FMC without all the “my bones hurt” comments that seem common when trying to demonstrate the “age” of the older woman.
