The Fuck-it Diet is not a diet book. In fact it’s completely the opposite. It’s about saying fuck it to diet culture and the constant battle to lose weight, because in our society, being skinny is the only thing of value apparently… 😒
For the past year and a half I’ve been on a bit of a journey away from diet culture and toward accepting my body as she is, and recognising that my worth doesn’t come from a number on a scale or a dress size.
This book is a revelation and I recommend it to anyone who is sick of constantly being told by the media and society (and sometimes even the people who love and care about us the most) that our bodies aren’t good enough.
Also, as a side note, this is actually the first audiobook I’ve ever finished because I prefer to physically read books. But I also have a physical copy of the book that’s full of highlighted bits and notes in the margins and post-its and dog-eared corners because it’s the sort of book that requires you to do some work on yourself.
