Meet Me Under the Mistletoe by Jenny Bayliss
4.0
Nory is a secondhand bookshop owner in London. With the holidays approaching she it putting in all her efforts despite feeling a bit sad every time she has to sell a part of her vast and amazing collection.
She was brought up by a working class family but her friends have and had extravagant lifestyles and upbringing. Thats being said, two of her oldest friends are getting married. They invited Nory and the entire friend group to spend a week in a castle together leading up to the wedding itself. Nory is reluctant at first due to a mistake she made with one of the guys in the group, but with some convincing from her best friends she decides to attend.
The reunion begins and brings back fun memories. Nory is taking a breather from trying to avoid her former fling all evening and runs into Isaac, the castles head Gardner and her brothers beat friend who like her brother, is nothing but contempt for the “snobby” people staying in the castle.
The attraction is almost instant although they both try to fight it. But during the week they begin to spend more time together and find they are not quite different after all. They both fall for each other, but not without some challenges. They need to decide if what they have with each other is worth the risk.
I really enjoyed this wintery read. It was light and perfect for around the Holidays!
