I thoroughly enjoyed this debute book! I loved the dynamics between Matilde, Aesa, and Saye. Let alone the added chaos of Alec, Willian and Fen. I also really enjoyed the adult characters dramatic backstories as well. I am excited to see how the next book goes, especially with the character growth that went on throughout this book. The ending was my favorite type of cliff hanger ending.

I do agree with some of the complaints people had about the magic system and I'm hoping we get some inclusion of trans characters as well so it's not just the token "pride month book but we only mention Lesbians" kinda pride month because it's a "safer" representation.
