Inspired by a recent teaching by the Venerable Phuoc Tinh, I picked up this short novel (surprised I hadn't read it!) and I was not disappointed. The words are beautifully written and the story very touching. It has a gentleness discovered through deep practice and meditation. And having visited Yen Tu mountain; I could also envision where parts of the story take place.
