My Lady Jane by Jodi Meadows, Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand
5.0
I’m kind of upset it took me this long to get around to reading such an entertaining book. I keep on asking myself why I didn’t read it last year, when I was having such a terrible and suck-ish reading year. I loved everything about this book: the characters (G and Jane were amazing), the plot, the originality, the style (I found it interesting that in the middle of the story they make comments about stuff and break the fourth wall), the language, etc. It took a morbid historical life tragedy (the story of Jane Gray, who was Queen Of England for 9 days) and turned it into something witty, romantic, and funny. This is probably one of the cutest (if not the the cutest of them all) historical retellings I’ve read thus far.
I hope that the sequel, My Plain Jane, will be just as entertaining, as this one.
