Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the ARC. My opinions are my own.
TLDR: Vampire falls in love with a human. Queue the chaos, horniness, and craziness typical of these stories and you got this manga.
Amelie is a vampire who has fallen in love with the human boy Pako. Vampires are not allowed to do a plethora of things that most people do in a relationship, but that doesn't stop Amelie. Queue the chaos of a forbidden love.
These two are so horny for each other. Within a few pages we get a ... "wand" shot. Censored naturally, but regardless. This happens on a few more pages. Also, the "feelings" situation here is strange. I am still not sure if it was reciprocated, how long they have been feeling this, and so on. It came suddenly and no more explanation has been given.
Storywise this is very shallow. The only proper conflict here is that Amelie is not allowed to have feelings. Because it might have consequences of some kind. The other "conflicts" get resolved pretty quickly, so I am looking past them.
The artstyle is pretty nice, I haven't seen something similar to this in years so it was very refreshing. A little more refined than the usual manga style.
Also the vibes here are great, exactly my kind of vibes.
Audience ... Adult. There are some things that happen here that only adults should see. New adult is fine too, but definitely a more mature audience is needed.
I am shamefully giving this 4 stars. This manga falls into the group "fast-food reads" where the quality is questionable, but I had the time of my life regardless. Will I read more? Oh yes, the moment more comes out I will. Will I recommend this? To most, no. But to freaks like me? Yes, yes I will
