A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet
3.0
3.5
It was nice enough i liked how the Gods Mortals and those without Magic were integrated.
I prefer A character to have powers and use them in a clever way, maybe be very powerful but a bit more quiet about it...
The main character is rightly a pain the bottom to her travelling companions after being kidnapped, but when she reveals her mega power its like great, then she has mega power and mega friends (that are secret for all of a chapter) then its the secret parentage again she wants to be inconspicuous but cant help boasting she is billy big bollocks.... Fire shows and burning a woman's skin come to mind. All in all it was a really powerful smartarse able to beat anything that comes at her consistently with new powers that just pop up to match the books tread.
I may carry it on... but i was recommended this and its a bit of a teen drama feel to it despite the great plot
