The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake
4.0
Type of read: Lunch time/weekend read.
What made me pick it up: My husband picked it up at the airport when he ran out of books on his travels. He told me that I "absolutely need to read that wizard smut" and I was intrigued right away. He originally picked it up as it was a featured book at the bookstand at the airport.
Overall rating: First, I have to say when I first picked up 'The Atlas Six' I did not understand why my husband kept calling it wizard smut, by the end of the book, I totally got it. That being said, there's some sex in this book. Fairly tame, nothing too crazy, but one whole character is very sexual and it's integrated into all of their interactions. Ok - all that aside, loved this book! It was a fun, easy read that kept me wanting to turn the page to know what happened. I'm so happy that we already purchased the second book because the ending definitely seems unfinished. Not even just a cliffhanger, but straight-up unfinished, like it could have been part one of a two-part book. I enjoyed the characters and their development. I also enjoyed the descriptions and illustrations that were included in the book. This is a good one to physically read so you can see the character's depictions. I think it says a lot that both my husband and I found this book to be a good read. I think it was a bit more my style than his, but still pretty universally enjoyable.
