Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

5.0

Having grown up with the Mallory Towers series by Enid Blyton, I am familiar with the heartwarming stories of girls growing up and finding themselves. Needless to say, Little Women stole my heart. Every character is written with such care and love, I can feel Louisa's spirit in Jo and her love for her family in Marmee, Meg, Beth, Amy and Laurie. Every chapter transports me to 1800s Massachusetts and the house they lived in. Every character is so memorable, even the side ones that barely makes an appearance like Sallie Moffatt, Frank and Fred Vaughn. Louisa quietly teaches us life lessons through these words, and shows us that innate happiness and contentment is more important than any riches in the world; and when you only see the greener grass on the other side, always remember that beneath it lies something more.
