For my overall review of this series, please see my review of book one.
We do not love a de-aging trope in this household. We just do not love it. While Xia Sini is written as a plot device to show the emotional immaturity of Chu Wanning and highlight his juvenile and vulnerable need to feel a sense of belonging, I do believe there are other ways this could be achieved. That aside, it's still 5 stars because it's 2ha and that plot and angst will get me every time.
