I'm so grateful when Sue Lynn Tan announced she made another book for the DOTMG duology and I'm so excited because I honestly love the duology with all of my heart.
Tales of the Celestial Kingdom is compilation of short stories that happens before, during, and after the original duology. There are 9 chapters that divided into 3 parts
1. Dusk.
It's a prequel of DOTMG. This chapter tells the story of Houyi and Chang'e and we got the POVs from each of them that makes it feels so special, exciting, yet heart-wrenching. I enjoyed this chapter more than I expected.
2. Twilight.
Set during DOTMG and HOTSW. Here, there are two Liwei's POV in the beginning and the end of the chapter that we didn’t get details in the original duology. I feel like Liwei grown so much since we first met him, and I'm so proud of him. Another POV in this chapter is Wenzh's and Shuxiao's. But I must admit I really forgot what kind of character Shuxiao is, forgive me....
3. Dawn
It's basically an epilogue of the duology. We got Xingyin's and Wenzhi's POVs and it's so perfectly made. It made my heart fluttering and excited. Ofc it easily became my fave parts lol
Bonus : there are STUNNING ILLUSTRATIONS in the book. Each of chapter contains 1~2 illustration(s). and YEP, I'M GLAD I BOUGHT THIS BOOK!!
If you're curious of the book, make sure you already read the original duology because it will give you a HUGE spoiler.
I'll recommend the entire series of DOTMG to everyone, especially who love romantasy book or maybe you're the beginner of fantasy book, I think it will suits you.
